Smiling multicultural team meeting around a tableNot only does each SELPA maintain a robust professional learning calendar, but SELPA staff lead multiple workshops, conferences, and academies across California.  As Connectors, SELPA leaders can identify appropriate technical assistance providers on a number of topics based on identified needs.  The technical assistance each SELPA provides starts with the local needs of the students, families, providers, and leaders within the regional area.  Below is a list of just a few of the "go-to" associations or references the SELPA Administrators of California regularly use to connect others to needed training and coaching.

California Autism Professional Training and Information Network (CAPTAIN),  a multiagency network and a SELPA Content Lead as part of California’s Statewide System of Support developed to improve and maximize academic, social, and vocational outcomes for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, by the Marin County SELPA 

California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE) - A statewide agency that works with other state agencies, partner agencies, county offices of education, and stakeholders to address the most pressing needs of California’s local educational agencies.

CDE Focused Monitoring and Technical Assistance - Califonia Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Division links to consultants by region.

California Department of Rehabilitation - Works in partnership with consumers and other stakeholders to provide services and advocacy resulting in employment, independent living, and equality for individuals with disabilities.

CASER - California Special Education Reference is a searchable legal reference tool for special educators and parents.

CALPADS CDE website, and CALPADS - CSIS Training YouTube Channel - The California Department of Education (CDE) uses the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) to report student information including special education information. Trainings are hosted throughout the year that help end-users and district-level data specialists stay current.

DRDP - The Desired Results Developmental Profile provides assessment for infants and toddlers with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs); and preschool-age children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Equity Disproportionality & Design (EDDS), by South County SELPA Content Lead, providing tools, resources, and training to prevent disproportionality and increase awareness of the importance of equity in the work we do in education.

Improving Outcomes for English Learners with Disabilities, by Imperial County SELPA Content Lead, providing tools, resources, and trainings to help special education providers and stakeholders better meet the needs of English learners with disabilities.

Open Access Project - Universal Design for Learning, Assistive Technology, and Alternative and Augmentative Communication, by Placer County SELPA Content Lead

PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) and the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE), the Technical Assistance Center on PBIS supports schools, districts, and states to build systems capacity for implementing a multi-tiered approach to social, emotional and behavior support.

PENT - Positive Environments Network of Trainers, a network that provides resources specific to positive behavior, functional behavior analysis, and behavior intervention plans

State Performance Plan Technical Assistance Project (SPP-TAP) - Resources to help schools and districts prevent disproportionality, by Napa County Office of Education and funded through CDE.

Supporting Inclusive Practices - A grant-funded statewide technical assistance project to assist educational communities in their pursuit of inclusive and equitable systems.

SELPA System Improvement Leads - Resources and events tailored to SELPAs and special education leaders and providers, funded through CDE and in collaboration with CCEE.
